Amana Furnace Code EEA
Soft lockout
Line polarity is reversed. The 115 volt hot and neutral feeding the furnace are swapped, or the furnace ground is poor, so the control refuses to run.
Manual wording: “Polarity if 115 volt AC is reversed.”
Documented for: Amana AMVC96, ACVC96, AMVM97, ACVM97, AM9S80, AC9S80, AR9S80, AD9S80, AR9T96, AD9T96 (seven-segment display controls)
Likely causes, most common first
- Polarity of 115 volt AC power to furnace or integrated control module is reversed
- Poor furnace ground
What you can safely check yourself
- If the furnace was just installed or the circuit was recently rewired, tell the installer - this code follows wiring changes
When to call a technician
Fixing polarity and ground is electrical work. Call the installer or an electrician.
A Amana furnace throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
