Daikin Mini-Split Code EA
Soft lockout
Four way valve abnormality. The control compared the room sensor to the indoor coil sensor and found the unit is not actually producing the mode it is running in - the reversing valve appears stuck or miswired.
Manual wording: “EA FourWay valve abnormality”
Documented for: Heat pump pair systems: FTXS-L, H-Series, FTXM-W/V
Likely causes, most common first
- Disconnection of four way valve coil
- Defective four way valve, coil, or harness
- Defective outdoor unit PCB
- Defective thermistor
- Refrigerant shortage
- Water mixed in refrigerant
- Defective stop valve
What you can safely check yourself
- Confirm the remote is actually set to the mode you expect (heat vs cool)
- Check and replace the indoor unit air filters
- Turn the system off at the breaker or disconnect switch and back on once
When to call a technician
A stuck reversing valve is a sealed-system repair. A technician needs to check the valve coil and the refrigerant charge.
A Daikin mini-split throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
