Daikin Mini-Split Code E6
Hard lockout
Compressor lock. The position-detection circuit shows the compressor is not turning when it should be - on 09/12 class units the compressor stops on overcurrent instead.
Manual wording: “E6 Compressor lock”
Documented for: FTXS-L, FDXS-L, H-Series, FTXM-W/V outdoor units
Likely causes, most common first
- Compressor locked
- Compressor harness disconnected
What you can safely check yourself
- Turn the system off at the breaker or disconnect switch, leave it off at least 30 seconds, and turn it back on once
When to call a technician
E6 means the compressor is mechanically or electrically locked. Diagnosis takes an inverter checker on the U/V/W harness and usually ends in a compressor or board replacement.
A Daikin mini-split throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
