Likely causes, most common first
- Disconnection or contact failure of the 63H connector on the outdoor controller circuit board
- Disconnection or contact failure at the 63H switch itself
- 63H is working (tripped) because of defective parts
- Defective outdoor controller circuit board
What you can safely check yourself
- Check that the outdoor unit is clear of snow, ice, leaves and debris so it can reject heat
- Turn the system off at the breaker, wait one minute, and turn it back on once
When to call a technician
63H is the high pressure safety switch. Never jumper or bypass it. A technician must check its continuity and find out why it opened.
A Mitsubishi Electric mini-split throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
