Remote controller transmission error. The remote controller could not find a free slot on the transmission path for 6 seconds and could not transmit, or its sent and received data disagreed 30 times in a row.

Manual wording: “Remote controller transmission error(E3)/signal receiving error(E5) - Abnormal if remote controller could not find blank of transmission path for 6 seconds and could not transmit.

Likely causes, most common first

  1. Two remote controllers are both set as 'main'
  2. One remote controller is connected to 2 or more indoor units
  3. Repetition of refrigerant address
  4. Defective transmitting/receiving circuit of the remote controller or the indoor controller board
  5. Noise has entered the remote controller transmission wire

  • Turn the system off at the breaker, wait one minute, and turn it back on once
