LG Mini-Split Code CH67

Hard lockoutShown as: Outdoor LED01 (red) blinks 6 times, LED02 (green) blinks 7 times

Outdoor BLDC fan motor lock error. The outdoor fan is not turning when the board tells it to - usually something is physically jamming it (ice, leaves, a stick), or the motor or its connector has failed.

Manual wording: “Outdoor unit brushless direct current (BLDC) fan motor lock error

Documented for: All LG residential mini-split outdoor units with BLDC fan motors

Likely causes, most common first

  1. Fan locked by physical force (foreign object stuck in the motor or blade)
  2. Poor connection of the motor connector
  3. Motor failure
  4. PCB failure

What you can safely check yourself

  • Turn the outdoor unit off at the breaker first, then look through the grille for leaves, sticks, ice, or debris jamming the fan blade
  • Clear snow and ice from around, under, and on top of the outdoor unit
  • Once the obstruction is removed and the breaker is back on, try the system again

When to call a technician

If nothing is jamming the fan and CH67 returns, the fan motor or the outdoor control board has failed. Never reach into the outdoor fan with power on.

A LG mini-split throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
