Lennox Furnace Code E292
Hard lockout
The indoor blower motor is unable to start. The control commanded the blower to run and it did not turn, typically from seized bearings or a stuck blower wheel.
Manual wording: “Indoor blower motor unable to start - Seized bearings, stuck wheel, etc. Indoor blower motor unable to start (seized bearing, stuck wheel, etc), replace motor or wheel if assembly does not operate or meet performance.”
Documented for: SLP98UHV series and other Lennox variable-speed furnaces with a seven-segment display
Likely causes, most common first
- Seized blower motor bearings
- Blower wheel stuck or jammed by debris
- Failed blower motor module
What you can safely check yourself
- Check that the furnace door is fully seated
- Turn the furnace power switch off for 30 seconds and back on once
When to call a technician
The manual's action is to replace the motor or the wheel if the assembly does not operate or meet performance. Do not reach into the blower compartment. Have a technician replace it.
A Lennox furnace throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
