Gas heat mode. The furnace is running a heat call. Lower-case "h" means the thermostat is asking for low-stage heat, upper-case "H" means high-stage heat.
Manual wording: “GAS HEAT MODE ... The lower-case "h" is displayed when the thermostat is requesting low gas heat and the upper-case "H" is displayed when the thermostat is requesting high-stage gas heat.”
