Fujitsu Mini-Split Code 95

Hard lockoutShown as: OPERATION lamp blinks 9 times, TIMER lamp blinks 5 times, ECONOMY lamp blinking continuously

Compressor motor control error (rotor position detection error). The control cannot keep track of the compressor rotor position, so the compressor stops; if it repeats within 40 seconds of restart it stops again and can go to a permanent stop.

Manual wording: “Compressor Motor Control Error - If the detected rotor location is out of phase with actual rotor location more than 90 degrees, the compressor stops.

Documented for: RL2, RLS2, RLS3, RLB/RLXB, RLF, RLF1, RGLX, RLE, LUAS1, LMAS, LZBS, LZAS, LPAS series

Likely causes, most common first

  1. Connector removed or loose on the compressor leads
  2. Erroneous connection at the compressor terminals
  3. Open compressor lead cable
  4. Failed compressor or inverter board

What you can safely check yourself

  • Turn the power off at the outdoor disconnect and breaker for about 5 minutes, then restore power

When to call a technician

This is a compressor-drive fault. Compressor terminal and winding checks are high-voltage work for a licensed technician only.

A Fujitsu mini-split throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
