Fujitsu Mini-Split Code 64
Hard lockoutShown as: OPERATION lamp blinks 6 times, TIMER lamp blinks 4 times, ECONOMY lamp blinking continuously
PFC circuit error or active filter error, depending on model. On 9RLS3/12RLS3 the inverter output DC voltage went above 415 V for over 3 seconds; on 15RLS3, 15RLS3H and 30RLXEH the inverter input DC voltage went above 425 V or below 80 V, or a momentary power interruption occurred at low voltage.
Manual wording: “PFC Circuit Error (9/12RLS3) - When inverter output DC voltage is higher than 415V for over 3 seconds, the compressor stops. If the same operation is repeated 5 times, the compressor stops permanently.”
Documented for: 9RLS3, 12RLS3 (PFC circuit error); 15RLS3, 15RLS3H, 30RLXEH (active filter error); RGLX models (active filter / PFC circuit error)
Likely causes, most common first
- Voltage drop, brownout, or electrical noise on the supply to the indoor or outdoor unit
- Momentary power interruption
- Loose or erroneous connector connection in the outdoor electrical box
- Failed active filter module (ACTPM) or main PCB
What you can safely check yourself
- Note whether the fault followed a power outage, brownout, or generator switchover
- Turn the power off at the outdoor disconnect and the breaker for about 5 minutes, then restore power
When to call a technician
If the compressor repeats this five times it stops permanently. Diagnosing needs live DC measurements in the inverter section, so call a licensed technician.
A Fujitsu mini-split throwing this code repeatedly has a reason — clearing the code without fixing the cause just hides it.
